Glaucoma: Diagnosis, Monitoring and Treatment

Glaucoma is a major cause of irreversible vision loss and requires early detection and continuous monitoring to reduce the risk of disease progression. This session will examine glaucoma risk factors, intraocular pressure assessment, optic nerve evaluation, visual field testing, optical coherence tomography, and other diagnostic approaches. Discussions will cover medical management, laser treatment, surgical interventions, treatment adherence, and long-term follow-up. The role of advanced imaging, artificial intelligence, and digital monitoring in identifying disease progression and supporting clinical decisions will also be explored. Experts will discuss approaches to improving early diagnosis, preserving visual function, and strengthening patient education and ongoing glaucoma care.
