Pediatric Ophthalmology and Visual Development

Pediatric ophthalmology focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of eye conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. This session will explore amblyopia, strabismus, childhood refractive errors, congenital eye disorders, pediatric cataracts, and other conditions that may affect visual development. Discussions will emphasize early screening, timely intervention, appropriate treatment planning, and family education. The role of school-based vision screening, accessible pediatric eye care, and modern diagnostic tools will also be considered. Experts will share approaches to identifying childhood vision problems at an early stage and reducing the risk of long-term visual impairment through effective management and follow-up.
