Ocular Imaging, Biomarkers and Advanced Diagnostics

Advances in ocular imaging and diagnostic technologies are transforming the detection and monitoring of eye diseases. This session will explore optical coherence tomography, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, corneal imaging, visual field assessment, ocular electrophysiology, and other emerging diagnostic methods. Discussions will address the use of imaging and biomarkers in identifying early disease changes, evaluating disease severity, predicting progression, and monitoring treatment response. The potential applications of molecular diagnostics, genetic testing, and data-driven analysis will also be considered. Researchers and clinicians will examine challenges related to diagnostic accuracy, reproducibility, cost, accessibility, and clinical interpretation, with the aim of improving the integration of advanced diagnostics into routine eye care.
